An annual safety inspection is required when the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the truck and trailer combined weighs over 4500KG's /9920LBS, and is used for COMMERCIAL use only. As of July 1st, 2019, trailers and tow vehicle exceeding the weight amount that are used for PERSONAL use (without compensation) no longer require a yellow sticker and annual inspection. The Highway Traffic Act also states that the pick up truck and trailer cannot be carrying commercial tools/cargo, or equipment normally used for commercial purposes in order to be considered for personal use. Also for the exemption to apply, the tow vehicle must have a manufacturers GVWR of 6500 kg or less AND be fitted with either the original, unmodified box that was installed by the manufacturer or an unmodified replacement box that duplicates the one originally installed by the manufacturer.

GVWR is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating on a trailer and determines what a particular trailer is capable of. GVWR takes into account the weight of the trailer plus the payload.

If a trailer has a GVWR of 2990lbs, and the trailer weighs 1200lbs, the carry capacity or payload would be 2990lbs-1200lbs = 1790lbs.

There is also tongue weight that could be calculated to determine the maximum payload.

Yes, we do! We are able to provide you with a new license plate or we can use your existing license plate & transfer your ownership. We are also able to provide you with a safety sticker for new and used trailers that we sell if required.

If you have the original plate portion of the ownership, and the trailer is going in the same name, we can use an existing plate you have and transfer that over to your new trailer. Trailer plates cannot be transferred into a different name.

Yes! We supply and install many types of hitches including bumper hitches, rails & brackets, fifth wheel hitches, gooseneck undermount & ball, and plate style.

We accept trade-ins of any brand, and will provide a fair market value on the spot if you bring the trailer to the dealership. We can also give you an estimated value of your trade with a fair description, and photos via email.

All trailers that are traded in will be reconditioned/serviced/safetied and be sold in our used trailer department. We also offer consignment sales, or will purchase your trailer from you, even if you're not replacing it.
